An-Nawawi’s Hadith No.39
On the authority of Ibn Abbas (Radhiallaho anha) that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu 'alaihi wasallam) said:
"Allah has pardoned for me my people for [their] mistakes and [their] forgetfulness and for what they have done under duress."
A Hasan (fair) Hadith related by Ibn Majah, Al-Baihaqi and others.
Commentary:
Being excused for what is done mistakenly or out of forgetfulness does not mean that there will be no consequent rulings. This means that a person might be forgiven but he still has to take responsibility for his actions
